Contro OPPOSITE

Zig while everybody else zags

To be more successful than everybody else, you need to do what everybody else does not do

HIGH BARRIER BUSINESS = LESS PLAYER = MAX PROFIT

High-barrier businesses are those that require significant resources, expertise, or capital to enter and succeed. They often involve substantial upfront investment, complex regulations, and high levels of competition. Here are some examples:

  1. Aerospace and Aviation: This industry requires immense capital, specialized knowledge, and long development timelines. Building aircraft, launching space missions, or even operating airports involves complex regulations and immense technical expertise.

  2. Pharmaceuticals and Biotech: Developing drugs or medical devices involves expensive R&D, strict regulatory approval processes, and significant technical expertise. The failure rate is high, and the barriers to entry are steep.

  3. Energy (Oil & Gas, Renewables): Entering the energy sector requires significant capital for infrastructure, technology, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, it's a market dominated by established players, making it difficult for newcomers to compete.

  4. Telecommunications: Building a telecommunications network, especially 5G or fiber-optic infrastructure, involves massive capital investment and navigating complex regulations. Competition is also fierce, and it's a market controlled by a few large companies.

  5. Banking and Finance: Setting up a bank or financial institution requires not only substantial capital but also compliance with a complex regulatory environment. It’s a highly competitive industry with significant barriers in terms of trust, technology, and infrastructure.

  6. Luxury Goods: High-end fashion, watches, or luxury cars require a long-established reputation, expert craftsmanship, and brand value. Entering this space often involves significant marketing, prestige, and the ability to meet high-quality standards.

  7. Television and Film Production: Producing films or television series at a professional level requires significant capital, talent, and technical expertise. Getting into distribution, especially in global markets, is also very challenging.

  8. Franchising (High-end/Global Brands): Becoming a franchisee of established brands (like McDonald's, Starbucks) demands high initial investments, adherence to strict operational standards, and often a proven track record of business management.

  9. Construction and Infrastructure: Large-scale construction projects such as bridges, highways, or skyscrapers require significant expertise, capital, and navigating complex regulations. The barriers to entry are high due to the technical and financial demands.

These industries typically require not only capital but specialized knowledge, a strong network, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and competitive landscapes. Is any of this resonating with the business you're considering?

RETENTION

Question: if we want to get more members. And the fact now we lost some members. Do we need to make topics why we leave rotary etc or we do opposite we talk in a positive way like how to get more members?..

Answer: It's better to take a positive approach and focus on **how to get more members** rather than dwelling on why people leave. Talking about why members leave can create a negative impression and discourage potential members from joining or make members leave more..

Instead, you can:

- **Highlight the benefits of Rotary membership** (networking, impact, personal growth).

- **Share success stories** of how Rotary has helped individuals and communities.

- **Create engaging events** that attract new people.

- **Offer a mentorship program** for new members to feel welcomed and supported.

- **Improve internal engagement** so current members stay active and motivated.

Note 🎡 🎢: plus I grew up with psychological side.. if we want to achieve something. We just Highlights words that relate to achieve it.. and most likely positive words.. statement like : why members leave rotary emphasize more people to leave.. ( focus word : leave )

Mengapa anggota meninggalkan Rotary? ==> It's not recommended to use this sentence. It's a fact. But *psychologically. It puts more " emphasize" to question or give more reasons to leave ( give them reasons to leave )* ==> I won't use it.

WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON'T WANNA LEARN?

Most people tend to avoid learning things that are uncomfortable, difficult, or challenge their existing beliefs. Here are a few examples:

  1. How to Accept Criticism – Many struggle with receiving feedback without taking it personally my πŸ’‘idea : what people say it's not about you. It's about them. A happy person is rarely give criticism, they will teach you!
  2. Emotional Regulation – Managing emotions like anger, jealousy, or insecurity is hard, so people often avoid it. My idea πŸ’‘ shut down emotions sometimes! Use logic
  3. Financial Literacy – Budgeting, investing, and managing debt require effort, and many prefer to ignore it.
  4. How to Be Alone – Being comfortable with solitude is a skill most avoid developing.
  5. Changing One’s Mind – Admitting when we are wrong or changing deeply held beliefs is uncomfortable.
  6. Delayed Gratification – People often prefer instant pleasure rather than long-term rewards. My idea πŸ’‘ : set a plan πŸ“then reward yourself after you finish a milestone, it tastes better/ or the best πŸ‘πŸ’―
  7. How to Handle Failure – Learning from mistakes rather than being discouraged by them is tough. My idea πŸ’‘ always know that's life is trial and error. It's not a failure πŸ‘Žit's a trial to find solutions to get successπŸ†πŸ’ͺ as we wish. Enjoy the journey ✈️trial and trial until successfulπŸ†πŸ’ͺ
  8. Taking Responsibility – Blaming others is easier than admitting personal responsibility. My idea πŸ’‘ : do what you wanna do and be responsible of it
  9. Active Listening – Truly understanding others rather than just waiting to respond is rare., my idea πŸ’‘ : this is hard if you have to listen something you don't wanna hear. But always know that people are interested in themselves 1000 times more.
  10. How to Let Go – Whether it's grudges, past mistakes, or toxic relationships, moving on is difficult. My idea πŸ’‘ : if it doesn't make you happy. Accept the fact and move on. just engage to whatever makes you happy

Here's a story about my real life experience...

" If someone found a gold mining ⛏️πŸ˜‰ he won't let people know"

==> It works in business world. If you see.. so many coaches/ gurus offer you to buy books πŸ“š. Then the money they get comes from YOU. Not from their businesses mostly.. when people share something, usually after they are in a very good position. And they will share you some ( as long you're not seen as a competitor)..

==> If he lets you know, because he needs you to invest/ money. That's why. For example in 2010 I got money from selling things on Facebook. I didn't tell anyone how I made it. Once many people knew how to do it.. I left the market. Already won big and already saturated. Time to go

" Enter the high barrier, many players= saturated. You'll get smaller cake "

It's like technologies πŸ₯° when not many people had phones. They sold high ( they produced high barrier products). Not many people produced them. Once so many factories produced. It's time to leave the market OR add new value. Changes always happen. Life is like that. Do it faster than most people. Before they know

Cake is profits. The market is the cake. Many players ( producers) on the market = the smaller cake you get. The size of cake always the same. How you control market share is your skill.
