This is a detailed replica of Michelangelo’s Pietà, a masterpiece originally created between 1498 and 1499.

The sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Jesus Christ, a scene representing the "Sixth Sorrow" of Mary.

Michelangelo carved this iconic work from a single block of Carrara marble when he was only 24 years old.

The original sculpture is housed in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, though replicas exist worldwide
