Attack 4 forts + big one in the middle, and wait until the status changes to " protected". When clan members helping the war, the winning status always come back to clan leader.. 

So basically the clan leader will decide who will be the mayor. If he doesn't pick one, the system will automatically give to him 

 

He is my mayor, M symbol ( mayor ) can be set in the middle of the mansion or can only ' on the left ' of mansion's title like below
